FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition in Science and Technology) is an organization founded to fulfill the purpose of its name by organizing robotics competitions for students at all levels. Robotics is unlike any other activity you have ever participated in. Whether you are involved with fabrication, control systems, software engineering, web design, marketing, PR, outreach, competitive analysis, or something else entirely, chances are your skills are quintessential to running a successful robotics team. We receive the help of mentors from the Catlin Gabel faculty and local industries to help us learn our skills, but our competition robots are entirely student designed, built, and programmed. We are proud to say that during the build season, adults don't touch the robot or the keyboard.
