Time Submission

Not everything that happens in Engineering happens in the lab. Members should log time through our spiffy SlackBot Micah wrote. Instructions below:

1. /log

  • Simply type /log in any channel or dm with no arguments and hit return, this will open up a form.

2. /log <hours>h <minutes>m <activity>:

  • This command version submits hours without a form, and allows for minute inputs. Type /log in any channel or dm, followed by an hour and/or a minute argument (with m or h to indicate which), and a small synopsis of the activity you’re logging.

  • Example: /log 1h 30m programming the intake controls

  • Example: /log 25m dance party with the robots

  • Example: /log 2.4h cadding a robot to create our team's future robots, so we dont have to do any more work

  • Example: /log 0.5h 10m BEEP BOOP; LEARN HOW TO BUILD ROBOTS FROM MICHEAL REEVES VIDEOS PROVIDED TO ME BY MY CREATOR; BEEP BOOP

  • Example: /log 3.4h 30.5m defend the lab from a robot uprising!!!

Once you've made a time log, the bot will send a message to Kevin, asking for his approval of the request. After he sees and approves it, you will get a notification, and the time will be added to the hours spreadsheet!
